SHOULD NOT use Expedia to make a booking? - NYC Forum
SHOULD NOT use Expedia to make a booking? I' m working at the reception of a hospitality establishment, and with TOP third parties that don't have a guarantee of room type (so don't assume you doubled it), but when I had difficulty locating a booking for a customer, I was actually still in the queue.
If you want to make a reservation directly with the accommodation, I suggest you contact the hotels where you would like to spend the night. I' m so sorry to have to tell you. I' ve bought holiday packs twice with JetBlue and once with Priceline and had no problem. SHOULD NOT use Expedia to make a booking? Bookings can always be made directly on the hotel's website or by phone.
In many cases, you can get better fares by phoning the hotels directly instead of going through the toll-free 800 number. If you call the hotelier directly, you can also ask about how to allocate the room to a particular site and ask about transport to/from the hotelier when you arrive in the city.
SHOULD NOT use Expedia to make a booking? So, I made my two bookings to San Francisco through expedia and did well. However, I always phoned my accommodation a while before my journey and made my booking. Thought if something went awry, I'd have plenty of fucking hands to fix it.
But on the other side, I made my two journeys to NYC directly through the hotels - the first one was the one I wanted, not on expedia. It was the second one, but to get the room guy I really wanted, it wasn't, so I had to go right through the city.
SHOULD NOT use Expedia to make a booking? It is also recommended to call a few working hours later and confirm this information when booking directly. I' had a bad dream with Expedia, too. and then they changed our itinerary. Fortunately, Southwest had a straight way for less than what we expedia payed for and with free holdbags.
Now I always make my bookings directly through the airline/hotel and always get a better fare or better comforts. So far I have always made bookings directly from my hotels for all my travels to the United States and other European countries. There is a tendency to use hotels that have a fidelity bonus account, as I can simply review and modify my booking on line if necessary.
AAA rates. I don't like to sign up advance buy rates as it doesn't give me the agility of modifying so I can only be living with whatever AAA rates I can get. I' ve only used the trip pages to get an impression of which hotels in the area I'm going to visit and to see the ratings, as most of them charge upfront and I've had enough reading about reservations issues that are still so reluctant to use them.

"I don't want to be a hotelier, I choose to spend the night at the B&B. You B&B are much friendlier since you usually deal with the proprietor when a hotel-staff who went to get university degree in Travel.
Besides the lower room rates, I will look directly at the B&B as I have found sites that offer much higher room rates than the B&B's own website. SHOULD NOT use Expedia to make a booking? We go to Asia every year and often make hotel bookings through various sites and have never had a single issue before We're sorry to learn of your experiences, but it doesn't always and it clearly doesn't always come to everyone - you must have just been so unhappy! Hopefully everything will end well.
SHOULD NOT use Expedia to make a booking? I' m also booking with third parties in general - as with Mez, I first ask directly at the hotels, but in general the price is better over the two I use - Zuji and Expedia. Admittedly, not all hotels are on the list and some nice folks in the California boards were helping me find something in Santa Barbara when I wasn't very lucky with the possibilities of these pages, so it has its limits.
Right now, Zuji has a 10% deal with Mastercard when you make your booking on Monday, so I found it great for our forthcoming 3-week USA vacation. One time I had a situation in Saigon where I posted the incorrect date through Zuji - the motel was astonishing, they gave us similar prices for that particular evening and proposed that we try to find our way back as I posted it for a whole weekend later, which means that I was within the cancelling time.
But I tried to cancel, but no happiness and the motel had asked me how I left. SHOULD NOT use Expedia to make a booking? "We recently got back from a seven-week trip to various U.S. towns and we' ve been booking all the hotels through third parties sites, expedia included, and we haven't had a problem."
