At Europcar we will provide these service in our role as Disclosed Agent for Europcar. The prices are inclusive of the default car rental and any optionals you have selected, inclusive but not restricted to extra driver, car seat, insurances and up-grades.
It is also possible to ask for additional options at the car rental desk when you pick up your rental car and these articles are then paid directly to Europcar. AT THE EUROPCAR RENTAL DESK, A VALID MAIN OR DEBIT PAYMENT DOCUMENT (BUT NOT A DEBIT CARD) MUST BE PRESENTED TO PAY ANY ADDITIONAL COSTS NOT INCLUDED IN THE PREPAYMENT AMOUNT.
The name of the name of the car must be the name of the person who booked the car. Note that Visa Electron is only acceptable from Europcar for rental in Spain, Portugal and the UK. If you rent a car in these jurisdictions, if this is your only major car rental company, your bankroll must have enough money for the deposit (as described in article 24.3.2) to be debited when you pick up your car.
If you are renting in other jurisdictions, you must present a different charge to your bank account when you collect your car. Cardholders must pay a deposit at the beginning of the rental term. This approval process allows Europcar to determine the definitive amount of the deal and to obtain the pre-rental approval cover.
The confirmation that the cardholder's bankaccount is credited and within the available spending-limits. to the cardholder's issuer banks (the "Deposit"). The amount of the deposit varies depending on the municipality's policies and may differ from state to state.
Daily rental price includes VAT; extra equipment and service chosen by the passenger. The deposit remains payable for the duration of the rental contract. The amount of the deposit requiring approval shall be specified in written form on the rental contract provided by Europcar.
The corresponding fees are booked to the customer's bank account at the end of the rental time. In some jurisdictions, in the event of theft or damage to the car, the motorist may, for whatever reasons, pay a non-payable amount (also referred to as a deductible), even if the waiver for collision damage, theft and/or loss and damage has been acquired or is contained in the tariffs.
There are no changes to car rental reservations. There is no charge for cancellation of a reservation unless it is canceled less than 24 hrs before the pick-up period indicated on the book. Failure to do so may result in the loss of your rental car or the car hire desk will not be open on your return.
EuroCar retains the right to levy a rental rate outside opening times. All Maxi-Cover car rental and purchase is governed by the rental agreement and Europcar's current rental agreement at the place and date of rental. The minimum rental period and the requirements for driving a Eurocar car may differ from state to state and depending on the car group.
Each driver must have a current driver's license which must be in force for at least one year (or more, depending on the rental location and the car category) before the rental starts and must present it to the Europcar rental desk at the beginning of the rental.
The main validity of the main payment cards (but not those issued by the bank ) must be presented at the moment of rental in accordance with Article 24. Special brand/model preference depends on rental times. Fifteen car rental day are 24-hour rental period from the date of collection.
Extra daily fees will be charged if the Europcar car is held longer than specified (extra nights will start after a 30-minute extension and will be charged at the available official rate). Each driver agrees that all information provided by him/her is provided on a voluntary basis and with his/her agreement in order to facilitate the provision of the car rental services.
This information is saved in a computerized databank which all riders can access and correct their own information at any moment upon enquiry to the Europcar sales department of the countries in which they reside. If you have a rental issue during the rental term, you should try to solve the issue with your car rental retailer.
Please be aware that Maxi Cover is not intended as cover, but rather to mitigate your liability in the case of Europcar car damages or thefts, provided that you have adhered to these General Business Rules and the relevant provisions at www.europcar.co.uk. Reducing the responsibilities offered by Maxi Cover will vary by countries and types of vehicles.
It should be noted that, particularly in Italy, car rental companies in the Campania and Puglia areas continue to be held responsible at the usual level for any car stolen or attempt to steal the car in these areas. The same applies regardless of where the car rental has begun or which extra cover has been acquired, such as (but not exclusively) maxi-cover.
Maxi Cover cannot be canceled after the purchase, unless the whole car rental booking is canceled. Maxi Cover is subject to all of these General Business Condtions and the relevant provisions listed at www.europcar.co. uk. EuroCar will inform clients of the security threats and penalties that can be applied to riders without snow gear between 15 November and 15 April each year.
Skid chains: Europcar provides cars with skid tracks on demand and for an extra charge. Customers can order the chain when they book or, if available, when they pick up the car. Exceptions are the rental locations in Piedmont, Aosta Valley, Lombardy, Veneto, Trentino South Tyrol, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Emilia Romagna and in the L'Aquila region in the time from 15 November to 15 April each year, where all rental properties contain conservatory outfitting.
