EXPAdIA First-quarter 2018 Dubai ranks third in Expedia Group's list of top destinations in the EMEA region
In the first three months of 2018, Dubai was ranked third in the European, Middle East and African region's top destinations, thus affirming the city's position as a top tourism location, according to the Expedia Group. It was found that London was number one for travelling, followed by Paris and Dubai, making Dubai the most important holiday location in the MENA area.
It prevailed over Rome, Amsterdam, Barcelona and Istanbul and finished third. With more than 60 retail centers and large multinational companies, Dubai has the second highest concentration of retail centers in the globe and attracts customers from all over the rich.
It also has a thriving leisure and entertaining industries that attract million of visitors every year. Dubai has something for every traveler, from ski to dunes. The latest Expedia Group figures show that there was still high levels of global tourism to Dubai. US travelers led the entry rankings, growing by almost 90% over the same quarter last year, followed by UK travelers, which recorded annual increases of almost 45%.
Further markets that recorded significant increases over the previous year were Germany and France, each with almost 70 percent year on year increases. It also suggests that the emirate's tourism market for mobiles and packages is growing, with the number of in-bound trips increasing by almost 40% year-on-year.

Recent figures from Expedia Group, the world's biggest tour operator, show that more and more travelers from around the globe are headed for a number of important destinations throughout Thailand, with significant increases in Chiang Rai, Pattaya and Hua Hin. Expedia Group figures for the first half of 2016 show soundly growing global demands in all three destinations.
Expedia's Chiang Rai hotels profited most with a 70% year-on-year increase, followed by Pattaya (60%) and Hua Hin (40%). In collaboration with the Expedia Group, Thai hotels can benefit from over 200 tour reservation pages in over 75 different destinations in 35 different nationalities. The UK and the United States are two of the most important in-bound stores with over 450 million visitors a month to Expedia's brand book, accounting for almost one-fifth of overall Chiang Rai and Pattaya sales.
In all three stores, travelers from abroad are more precious than those from Thailand, booking more than a months in advance, almost doubling the number of Thai nationals from Thailand. Expedia's fast-paced solutions developed even better. Expedia's parcels grew internationally in all three destinations, with Pattaya at the top with 170% year on year increases, Hua Hin (90%) and Chiang Rai (50%).
Expedia's bundle offer is unparalleled in that it allows travelers to combine several different travel options such as flight, travel and accommodation to reduce costs. Parcels are another way for hotels in these destinations to create high value with low single-digit cancellations. With the Chiang Rai and Pattaya market doubled on balance, while the Hua Hin hotelier business posted a further two-thirds increase in reservations via wireless handsets, it is one of the fastestgrowing sectors for all three of them.
Expedia's portable platform has always assisted hotels to fill last-minute rooms, with almost 40-50% of travel stops in these stores taking place between 0-6 nights prior to arrivals.
