As of today, priceline.com clients can browse the company's website and ride with a multitude of branded vehicle rental businesses.
In its new facility for rental vehicles, priceline.com is knocking into the burgeoning U.S. rental space, projecting as a $17. 2 billion-plus industrie. priceline.com found out from its own client survey that 27% of air travelers are also interested in hiring a vehicle at the final destinations.
Priceline.com's car rental is quick, simple and comfortable. Travellers tell priceline.com where and when they want to collect and deposit the car. As with priceline.com's other priceline.com rental products, travellers undertake to hire from any reputable rental agency associated with priceline.com. They then name the daily cost they want to spend.
Priceline.com calculates all accruing tax and charges and gives the flat rate to the traveller as well. Priceline.com then goes to work to try to find a rental unit for the passenger at this rate and answers with a yes/no reply in an hours or less. Priceline.com accepts and then presents them to the vendors, who can satisfy as much of the warranted supply as they want at prices set by the purchasers.
Priceline.com's "virtual" trading platform enables fast scalability over the web. Priceline.com does not keep stock in its products. Priceline.com's current system is selling several products to clients in three different service categories: Priceeline Travel Shops offering recreational air travel, accommodation and car rental; priceeline Personal Finance Shops offering mortgage, refinance and home equities loan products; priceeline Automotive Shops allowing users to make new car sales deals.
Priceline.com also franchised its franchise to two private businesses -- Priceline WebHouse Club, which provides Name-Your-Own-Price stores, starting with food in the New York subway and Greater Philadelphia, and Priceline Perfect YardSale, a second-hand home sales company. Priceline.com will receive license fees in exchange for licensing WebHouse Club and Perfect YardSale and has also been granted a warrant to acquire an interest in the company under certain covenants.
