OTHER THE-AIR UPATATCH other the-air upatatch is the cordless transfer of new softwares or files to cell telephones and workstations. Cellular operators use traditional over-the-air upgrades to provide firms with the latest firms and to set up telephones for use on their network. For example, initializing a new telephone that has been acquired will require an over-the-air upgrade. Beginning with Apple's version of 5.0.1, Apple said it would make all iPhone upgrades available over the Internet. Up to now, updating your iPhone has taken place through Apple Apps and a direct link between your iPhone and a computer.

Upgrades OTA

In this section we describe the setup of the software updating package and the available utilities. The purpose of OTA patches is to patches the basic OS and read-only application on the system partitions; these patches do not impact the Google Play user's application installations. This example application is an example for the use of updatet_engine for A/B-upgrades.

Today's A/B machines have two duplicates of each drive, A and A. Machines are applying the upgrade to the currently empty drive while the system is in operation but idling. There is no need for A/B equipment to install the patch pack because they can deploy the patch while reading it from the local workstation.

It is also known as a smooth updating. See A/B (Seamless) System Upgrades for more information about OTA A/B device upgrades. Earlier versions have a specific restore volume that contains the necessary backup utility to extract one download archive and deploy the upgrade to the other volumes. You can find more information under Non-A/B System Upgrades.
